Nick Fairley is practicing!!

In breaking news this morning, the Detroit Lions have announced that rookie DT Nick Fairley has returned to practice.
For the first time since week one of training camp, defensive tackle  Nick Fairley participated in practice, on the field for defensive line individual drills."It's the first step," said Head Coach Jim Schwartz after practice. "(He's) still got a long way to go, but there's steps along the way and this is one of them."
Fairley has done as much as he has been able to do both in the weight room and in the classroom, but getting back on the field is something Schwartz considers a big step.
"He'd been doing a lot of stuff on the side and doing a lot of lifting and conditioning," he said. "Actually putting a helmet back on - he doesn't even have any stickers on his helmet (yet).

"It's just part of the process."

This is excellent news for the Lions, who surely could use the extra muscle up front.  However, it is early in Fairley's recovery, so we shouldn't get too excited just yet.  I expect to see Fairley on the field within the next couple of weeks though, so there is something to look forward to!  GO LIONS!
